Kiss Nail Dress Ever ez Lashes

I received from Influenster and Kiss not one but two boxes of the Ever ez Lashes. What caught my attention first, was that the product states it's reusable and in addition, you get two pairs in each box. Described as having a natural look and light weight so I'm interested already in trying these.  I can say when I looked at the lashes, I do like the color the lashes are, as they match mine. Style #56735, KPD04 is my favorite because it has the same look as my natural lashes. I thankfully have been blessed with long eye lashes that at age 36 are still nice and full. I thank olive oil for keeping them looking healthy but there are those nights that I wish I could add a little pop without piling layers and layers of mascara. I like the option of faux lashes because you can reverse the look in an instant without damaging your lashes like a some mascaras can by dehydrating them.  Waterproof mascara tends to not come off as easy so that means I also have to use more remover and my eyes nor my lashes are ever too thrilled about that process.



Kiss makes the process easy and fool proof with the easiest instructions right on the back of the package. I applied the lashes and got it right the first time and that evening, I just went with a simple "cat-eye" look created with a liquid liner and my eyes looked different but not over the top. Some lashes make it look like you are using your eyes to dust so the "swiffer" look is not one I was aiming for.  The applicator has a nice swoop so I was able to use the rounded tip with ease.  You apply the adhesive and wait just 30 seconds and then using the applicator, you apply the lashes along your own natural lash line.  I know.....super easy than those lashes you apply one at a time.  I always would get a rebel one that poked up or down with those, but with Kiss ez Lashes, you can trim before to the desired length so matching is a cinch!

Tip: I would definitely purchase the same style from Kiss and they are reusable.  I got 3 uses out of my first pair and found that the secret is in the removing process.  As long as you do not stress the product when removing them, like by pulling hard, the lashes tend to last and remain in a reusable state very easily.  I just then use Ivory soap to wash off any liner that I used to blend the lashes with mine.  I had to throw my first pair out of the two that come in the box because I was a little careless the last time I used them and deformed the lashes.  Keep the box for easy storage!!

Q-tips Precision Tips made with 100% Cotton

Influenster comes through again with another awesome box, The Something Blue VoxBox. I've said "Yes" to every product so far, and this next one, Q-tips Precision Tips Cotton Swabs is no exception! These things are awesome. They are perfect for putting on makeup, taking off make-up, cleaning up make-up, touching up your face, cleaning your jewelry, bringing world peace...okay, maybe I went a little too far there, but you get the gist. These little swabs do it all, and probably even some things I have yet to discover. The little sticks aren't plastic, so they can be bent at almost a complete right angle and not break. How cool is that? There's just enough cotton on the tips to be useful, pliable and shape-able, but not so much that it starts coming off at the first use. Even better, not so little that you get poked with the stick like those bargain off-brand types. These Q-tip brand Precision cotton swabs will become the Swiss Army Knife of your makeup pouch. You'll wonder how you ever got along without them!

A word of warning, the gushing about these little gems didn't stop with me. Hubby happened upon them, and let's just say I'm glad Influenster sent two boxes of 30, because I lost one, fast. Cleaning out power tools? Check. Getting the schmutz out of the watchband? Check. Cleaning our our computer keyboards? Check. Detailing our electronics? Check. Now I have to see where I can get these in bulk!

The vitamin B3, also known as Niacinamide is featured in many beauty products and this is why:
Niacinamide improves the appearance of aging and has a soothing calming effect. You will notice acne products also contain this ingredient because of the inflammation associated with those nasty blemishes, to products made to combat the dryness associated with Rosacea. Niacinamide, also helps the skin produce less facial oils and this may help acne suffers too. Vitamin B3, stimulates the production of collagen and this helps with fine lines and wrinkles. It improves the surface of the face by usually combining the B3 vitamin with other ingredients, for better absorption and Aveeno has done this with this night cream.



The directions are simple, you just smooth cream over entire cleansed face and neck. I used a quarter size and found that was sufficient for overall coverage and even though this is a cream with impressive claims, it is not heavy or oily on the face.

I have been an Aveeno user for years and every time Costco has the Aveeno body lotion in their coupon book, I am there to stock up. Their products are mild but also effective. If the bottle states something will last for 24 hour, it does!



I went into this testing trial with high expectations when it came to the proven results and used the product for a total of two weeks. I was impressed already by the Total Soy-Complex added because of the benefits associated with soybeans, but also the price point. Target stores has this product priced at an affordable $14.99 per unit and each bottle has 1.7 ounces.



The Results:

I have combination skin and that in itself can be challenging because what satisfies the dry areas, usually annoys my oily ones. The normal areas of my skin just flaunt and ignore what is happening to the rest of me! Having skin with such an attitude frustrates me. I find myself "patting" my face with different creams for each "type" of skin that sometimes I confuse what I have on my left or right hand and figure at that point, I just pat lightly all over my face and hope whatever lands anywhere will help. Aveeno's Intensive Night cream took the game away and thank goodness because I was about to just have a fit and flip that game board over. The cream is good no matter if it lands in Oily-ville or the Dry-lands of my face. Again, Normal-place just ignores the rest of me. I found on week #1 that my face looked the same from my forehead to my chin. My cheeks tend to be sensitive and because I suffer from environmental allergies, I'm sure that is from doing what I am not suppose to do, rub my eyes. The reddish inflammation I experience was minimized drastically so that "punchy eyed" look was lessened. My skin reflected a more even tone both in texture and appearance. Okay, so far I see no reason to stop usage.

Week #2: I find myself happy because I have not experienced any clogged pores or residue build up from Aveeno's Intensive Night Cream. I can say my face is not dull and has a glow that seems to last through out the day and after I wash my face, so it's not just the product making me believe I have it through application. I have some freckles on my cheeks and they are the same color as before I began the cream, so for brown spots that come from freckles or post-acne marks, I did not notice anything when it came to changes there. I say for getting 4 out of the 5 claims with just a two week use, it is a great night cream to add to the make-up bag at the $15 price point. You add a coupon at time of purchase and that makes me smile more......but not too much because I'm fighting fine lines here people!

A Good Read: Hiding in Sunshine by John Stuart & Caitlin Stuart

I received this book from Influenster, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to review such a fun, exciting romp. Written by father-daughter duo John and Caitlin Stuart, this cyber-crime thriller is poignant, timely and so well written, I could re-read it right away! With details to spare and taking place in their geographical backyard, the little nuances of writing this close to home really shine through. With a twist at the end I didn't see coming (and no, I won't spoil it here!), I left this literary experience satisfied and ready for more! This Stuart duo did a bang up job, putting themes like identity theft, and bank fraud at the forefront of the narrative, something we all have had some type of experience with, unfortunately. But it's a detail that means we can immediately identify with our protagonists. I will say that the book started out a little slow, but once it takes off, hold on tight, because I couldn't put it down! Kidnapping, suspense, and evil foreign criminal enterprise, witness protection, technological armageddon...my goodness! There's something for everyone here, and your doing yourself a disservice not picking this up.

If only Sole Socity could bottle up their Customer Service and sell it in a shape of a Shoe

I am very fortunate in being able to have 95% positive experiences with companies, brands and most of their products. Very rare is the time where I receive a product that exhibits manufacture defects or was delivered to me is less than prime condition (aka:New). These companies want to flaunt with pride that their product is the best and this is why they send it to me so I can then echo the same, if I AGREE.

Well, I have my first real ugly Disagree! I love Influenster (www.Influenster.com) because they introduce me to great items that I would have not tried in the past just because I was unaware of their existence or had zero connections with them in the past, so I had no idea if they were good or bad. Being stuck in that unknown middle is not a nice place so I like when companies shake me and make me sway towards a Yay or a Nay!

I give Sole Society a Nay! It's that clear, that black and white. I ordered a pair of Black leather heels using their code for $25 off, with tax making the total $38.01. I checked every source out there from on-line to brick and mortars and no genuine leather pair of pumps (that was pretty) was available for that price point. In my research, I noticed Sole Society is featured on Nordstorm's site so that seemed like a good sign. I associate good quality and excellent service with that company. I did some googling and I find that Sole Society is pretty much a "spin off" from Hautelook, which again is another Nordstorm connection. I place my order for the heels they have named Cameron.



Well, Cameron was ordered on Sunday (1/06 after 10:00 PM) after I think I even tired myself debating it. I get a shipment notice with a tracking number, plus a delivery date of Tuesday, January 8th. Wha...? Now, that is QUICK service. UPS driver and his wonderful brown truck pulls up and I was online so my husband gets the package. He kindly opens it up and I hear from the kitchen, "Dang, this shoe box has seen better days". My response, "seriously, how bad....I don't keep shoe boxes so let me know how the heels are". I hear some paper and then silence. Now, a few seconds passing when it comes to something like this seems like minutes so I just know he took TOO LONG to say something. I start speaking and I hear, "Babe, these shoes are used....but like REALLY USED". I stop what I am doing and we meet half way. I will make it short and clear, these should have never been accepted as a return in that kind of shape and then resold. The girl that walked in these heels should stick to sneakers because not only are they scuffed on the sides and front, but on the back of one of the heels. Each heel has a sticker with what seems to be the model number (just a theory). Cameron is model number 7B/37 and on the right shoe, the sticker has been "walked off". You have that sticky smear where the sticker came off and everything on the floor/ground stuck to it. It gets worse, one of the heels has the foot (rubber bottom) glued on crooked. Um, I know whoever abused these shoes and then had no shame to return did not do that, that is a manufacturer defect! The shoes have glue spillage where the upper joins the sole and there is an unknown stickiness to them in spots. I just convinced myself it was soda (don't make me think about it). Nonetheless, the deep wrinkles in the leather from walking, the asphalt pits on the bottom of the heel, and all the damage pictured.....these shoes were accepted as a return and then RESOLD as brand-new to a new customer. I was buying shoes, not renting them! Not only is this not sanitary by any means but truly disgusting when I see two other post on Sole Society's Facebook page with other clients getting the same and even worse than I did.

I am a "fix it" kind of person and it's not my business where the shoe fell with Sole Society when it comes to returns. If it's the return's department obligation to check this......well, you know when employees are slackers! Thank goodness I did not purchase one of their "Final Sale" pairs because that is how their BOGO sale worked. The site states, Free Shipping and Free Returns" with no asterisk (*) but be advised that if you return a pair and want a REFUND to your credit card, well there is a re-stocking fee of $7.95. Now, you can always waive getting back the real money you used and opt for a Sole Society credit, and only then do you not get charged a restocking fee. I was not paying a restocking fee after I received used and dirty product, nor was I playing the back-in-forth game after seeing the manufacturer defects alone poor Cameron had.

I use their contact form and press enter to submit for it just to clear my text and not send anything. Don't you love that? I remembered to highlight and hit "copy" before hitting the doom button, thankfully. I sent a direct e-mail and the following day, I received a response. The e-mail apologized for the "mutilated" shoes, (representative's words...not mine). Great service and quickly tells me there would be no re-stocking fee. I get a UPS label e-mailed and on Friday, January 11th, my Husband makes the trek to drop off the box (I appreciate it). I get a notice from UPS that the shoes will be delivered on Monday, January 14th and then another notice when the shoes arrived at their facility. On Wednesday, January 16th, my credit card reflects a credit in full!

If Sole Society could bottle up their Customer Service and sell it in a shape of a shoe....I would support them 150%! As we stand at the moment, whoever is accepting and selling USED shoes has got to (with a cherry on top) GO! I don't believe there is any malice from the company to do this because it is not smart business but it's purely disgusting to have a person or people that would allow such things to happen when you then have Customer Service shining like this. A waste indeed! I wanted to like Sole Society and Cameron, but it seems we were not meant to be.

I have not been as spiffy as I want to be since the holidays passed us and trying to de-Christmasify the house, plus everything that has to be done in the New Year….well I admit it (waves little white flag), I can’t hang like I use to. I like a product that again does the work of two.  Bath & Body Works has added Shea Butter to their shower gel so you don't dry out so much while showering.  It's great to strip the dirt away but that also takes away what keeps our skin healthy.  They did not stop there and added Aloe Vera and Vitamin E to make sure you are one soft baby!  I was afraid of feeling oily and not clean when I received this but my fears were put to rest when I towel dried.  I get it now, how you are supposed to feel clean but not like you shrunk your skin after a shower.  I felt comfortable and my skin just felt normal- not dry or oily.  It remained that way through out the day and even the day I was too in a hurry to apply body lotion and wait for it to dry before getting dressed.  I received Pink Chiffon and I describe the scent like raspberry roses.  Please go into a store and take a sniff because it's yummy.  Not overly perfumed but intoxicating because it smells so good and light.  This product comes also in full size (10 ounces) for $11, so if you like it as much as I did, I would opt for the full size since the mini is only 3 ounces.  Quick math and you can see the deal!

VEET Wax Strips, keeps you looking HOT!

• VEET Wax Strips for Legs & Body (retails for $9.99)

The product is easy to use and there is no wax warming required or those pesky cloth strips.  This is as clean as waxing and hair removal can get.  You just rub a strip between your hands for about 5 seconds to warm and soften the wax.  Look at it like your activating it and then you slowly peel the strips apart.  You apply the strip that has the wax to the area you want to remove hair, and keep in mind that you will be pulling in the direction of the hair growth when placing.  The strip even has a tab for easy placement and pulling, so no worries on getting wax stuck to you or your nails.  When pulling, you do it very quickly and you may hold the skin taught as it aids with avoiding discomfort.  After waxing, Veet has included wipes that help remove any excess wax and also contain a solution that helps avoid irritation.  That easy!  You get 40 full size wax strips and 6 wipes.  Veet leaves your skin clean from hair and I did not find much excess wax left behind.  No razor to deal with or cans expelling foam that was supposed to make shaving a breeze.  I also like the reward of not having to shave every few days.  My only tip to add: make sure to keep in mind how you will pull before placing the strip because certain areas (curves) are a little tricky.  I just made sure to practice the action of how I would pull (direction of) before removing the wax strip and applying.

• NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine (retails for $2.49)

I received my gloss in the color of Nude York City, No. 582.  The color does apply like a sheer/nude and has beige and rosey tones.  It's the typical "my-go-to" color a girl likes to use because it's great for a day to night look.  You do not get that glitter shimmer that blinds people (great for pre-teens but not adults), nor a wet look that resembles an oil slick.  This is just finally the perfect sheen and the price point is unbelievable because of the results!  The lip gloss has a pleasant scent and taste because sometimes we do bite our lips :).  Reapplication was usually every 3 hours and this was after being stuck in an air-conditioned vehicle that tends to dry my lips faster.  A little goes a long way and I liked that it did not bleed or leave an odd tint when it wore down.  It just gets fainter and fainter as you get closer to reapplication time.

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration gives you MORE fun on the sun!

There is so many sunscreens that you stop and wonder if there is a difference anymore, there is. Hawaiian Tropic has been around for many years and it's for a reason- it works! It's one of the few that does not cause me irritation and allows my skin to breathe when I apply it. It is a Broad Spectrum sunscreen, meaning it protects against UVA and UVB rays. Influenster Latina Beauty Vox Box 2012

Influenster is a program that sends you at no cost, products from several companies to try out.  This is my fifth box since being a member and I have always incorporated items from each Vox Box into my daily routine.  Many times they include the latest new beauty item that I have been curious about or a product(s) I was completely unfamiliar with.  It's a nice way to introduce yourself to new items and all they ask is for feedback...pretty easy!

The Latina Beauty Vox Box included:

• VEET Wax Strips for Legs & Body (retails for $9.99)

The product is easy to use and there is no wax warming required or those pesky cloth strips.  This is as clean as waxing and hair removal can get.  You just rub a strip between your hands for about 5 seconds to warm and soften the wax.  Look at it like your activating it and then you slowly peel the strips apart.  You apply the strip that has the wax to the area you want to remove hair, and keep in mind that you will be pulling in the direction of the hair growth when placing.  The strip even has a tab for easy placement and pulling, so no worries on getting wax stuck to you or your nails.  When pulling, you do it very quickly and you may hold the skin taught as it aids with avoiding discomfort.  After waxing, Veet has included wipes that help remove any excess wax and also contain a solution that helps avoid irritation.  That easy!  You get 40 full size wax strips and 6 wipes.  Veet leaves your skin clean from hair and I did not find much excess wax left behind.  No razor to deal with or cans expelling foam that was supposed to make shaving a breeze.  I also like the reward of not having to shave every few days.  My only tip to add: make sure to keep in mind how you will pull before placing the strip because certain areas (curves) are a little tricky.  I just made sure to practice the action of how I would pull (direction of) before removing the wax strip and applying.

• NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine (retails for $2.49)

I received my gloss in the color of Nude York City, No. 582.  The color does apply like a sheer/nude and has beige and rosey tones.  It's the typical "my-go-to" color a girl likes to use because it's great for a day to night look.  You do not get that glitter shimmer that blinds people (great for pre-teens but not adults), nor a wet look that resembles an oil slick.  This is just finally the perfect sheen and the price point is unbelievable because of the results!  The lip gloss has a pleasant scent and taste because sometimes we do bite our lips :).  Reapplication was usually every 3 hours and this was after being stuck in an air-conditioned vehicle that tends to dry my lips faster.  A little goes a long way and I liked that it did not bleed or leave an odd tint when it wore down.  It just gets fainter and fainter as you get closer to reapplication time.

• Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration (Full size bottle retails for $7.99)

There is so many sunscreens that you stop and wonder if there is a difference anymore, there is.  Hawaiian Tropic has been around for many years and it's for a reason- it works!  It's one of the few that does not cause me irritation and allows my skin to breathe when I apply it.  It is a Broad Spectrum sunscreen, meaning it protects against UVA and UVB rays.  Broad Spectrum is what Dermatologists want you to wear.  Best way to remember about UVA and UVB protection and why you should seek it:

UVB: Rays that give you sun burn and seem like you are just red and uncomfortable but there is more to consider here and please continue reading on why.

UVA: This is the rays that penetrate deep and cause not only wrinkles, premature aging, sagging and texture decline, but also a leathery appearance and feel.

These UVA rays also make the UVB rays intensify, think magnification and in this where you worry due that it may cause Cancer.  I always look at it like making a bad cocktail, you don't want that but you may be able to avoid it with a Broad Spectrum sunscreen.

• Bath & Body Works Shea-Enriched Signature Collection Shower Gel (retails for $5 in mini)

I like a product that again does the work of two.  Bath & Body Works has added Shea Butter to their shower gel so you don't dry out so much while showering.  It's great to strip the dirt away but that also takes away what keeps our skin healthy.  They did not stop there and added Aloe Vera and Vitamin E to make sure you are one soft baby!  I was afraid of feeling oily and not clean when I received this but my fears were put to rest when I towel dried.  I get it now, how you are supposed to feel clean but not like you shrunk your skin after a shower.  I felt comfortable and my skin just felt normal- not dry or oily.  It remained that way through out the day and even the day I was too in a hurry to apply body lotion and wait for it to dry before getting dressed.  I received Pink Chiffon and I describe the scent like raspberry roses.  Please go into a store and take a sniff because it's yummy.  Not overly perfumed but intoxicating because it smells so good and light.  This product comes also in full size (10 ounces) for $11, so if you like it as much as I did, I would opt for the full size since the mini is only 3 ounces.  Quick math and you can see the deal!

• Always Radiant Infinity Pads (retail for $6.99) and Always Tampax Radiant Collection (retail varies by size)

The box included the pads for myself to keep and the best part on why I love the Influenster program, they included a sampler box to give to a friend.  The friend's box had a purse (to store pads and tampons), 3 daily liners and 2 tampons.  I admit I liked it a lot and wanted to keep it but my conscious after getting everything else could not be calmed, so with a smile I gave it to my girlfriend.  Her reaction was worth it because she loved the discrete little purse that had the perfect inserts to store tampons and pads.  I thought pads were the same in most brands and that you just pick by what shape and size feels best.  I was wrong, again!  I also use to pick by price and did not know that if I paid close attention, I could have saved money.  My former brand was not as comfortable and thin, plus I tended to use pads more often.  With these Always Radiant Infinity Pads, I change less often and what is best, you get better protection but the pad is ultra thin.  The extra protection comes from Microdots in the pad that allows better absorbency, who knew pads were scientific!  I switched brands for the comfort and security alone.  My box contained 16 pads at a fair price point (wrapped with knowing I'm secure) of $6.99
