Klout Perk: Science Diet Grain Free Food for Dogs, plus More #WinwithHills

IMG_20140312_160900

Klout not only rewards their members but also their pets. Our mutt received a great perk package filled with lots of goodies, courtesy of Science Diet. The kit was packed with a bag of the Adult Grain Free dry dog food, a dog rope toy shaped like a frisbee, and a collar charm that lit up. It's like Science Diet and Klout knew our dog's birthday was in March!!

I can say the Grain Free food was welcomed by our pup and she made sure to cherry pick the Science Diet food out of her bowl first, before eating the "with grain" feed we formerly had. I figured it was good exercise as it took her a good hour to nose her food to get to the Science Diet kibble. The Grain free formula is packed with many benefits so it goes beyond our dog just enjoying the meal:

  • Prebiotics are added and this aids with nutrient absorption and digestive health. The source listed is beet pulp, which also adds fiber.

  • Owners have reported a radiant and lustrous skin & coat on their dogs courtesy of the omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Flax seed is the source listed on the package.

  • The protein listed is high quality chicken, which also supports a healthy heart. You also have cranberry, plus vitamins E and C for immune system support.

  • The Grain-free feed is all natural ingredients with no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives

Klout Perk: Braun Forehead Thermometer Model FHT 1000

IMAG0344

My newest Klout perk was a wonderful surprise when it arrived on New Year's Eve. It is the Braun Thermometer, Model FHT 1000. No longer do you have to stick a thermometer in your mouth or even your ear to check your temperature. This is a forehead thermometer that has a large color-coded screen with instant fever detection. The new Braun Forehead thermometer uses the skin's surface over the temporal artery, which is connected to the heart. You get an accurate temperature and there is no probe covers needed. The thermometer comes with a protective cap and the 2 AAA batteries it takes, so you are set right out of the box. I tried it and just in seconds had an accurate read out. The Braun FHT 1000 is for everyone in the family from infants to adults!

Being a Klout member has it's rewards that are a real perk when they show up at your doorstep. From the McDonald's gift cards to try new featured menu items (http://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en/home.html), to my last one from the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Company (http://www.coffeebean.com/). I enjoy them all! In 2012 there was an avalanche of perks coming our way but not as busy in the first part of 2013, so I am hoping Klout ends this year with a bang and they have been picking up pace. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Company (CBTL) Perk:

This is my favorite perk so far for 2013!!! I used the coffee in Creme Brulee flavor and created a cake.  I used Turbinado sugar to create the caramelized top associated with a Creme Brulee.  Made the dessert in 3 layers and because I love berries with my brulee, I created a triple berry filling and then covered it all with a dark chocolate ganache.

Carol's Daughter Monoi Repairing Collection

I had over 7 different leave-in hair products under my sink and none left me even 75% satisfied with the results. I can say that the Monoi product by Carol's Daughter has left me 150% satisfied. My hair looks healthier with a beautiful shine (not oily). It does not cause break-outs but controls fly-aways and the best part, your hair is just so soft. I did not lose volume and it left my hair looking the best it could ever look.  It reduced my frizz and static is now a stranger to my locks.  I have hair down to my waist and only used what adds up to two pea sized drops.  The dispenser is easy to work and dispenses the right amount every time without waste.  I'm so happy!  I consider this my one and only leave-in from now on. The other positive, my cabinet has more room now!

I received this item free of charge from Klout and Carol's Daughter. I share my honest opinion without commitment in having to give the product a favorable/unfavorable review. Your opinion may differ from mine.

Essie perk provided by Klout, Strokes of Brilliance

Image

I having been working my way through the Klout World, a site that rewards you for being....well Y-O-U.  They measure your influence in social media and thousands of other topics.  As your score goes up and up, it opens the door to perks that are related to your topics (you can work on 20 at a time).  One of my many interests is Nail Polish so I chose this as a topic.  No sooner that I pick it, that door opens where I qualified for a perk and it was the Essie nail polish in the color of "strokes of brilliance".  I like glitter and sparkles but dislike how it feels raised on a nail.  I tend to rarely use it because it catches on things and I have to admit something, I then pick at it.  Shameful!  The other factor is it takes longer to dry because you have to add an extra top coat on top of the glitter, polish, base...you end up with 4 coats if I just do one coat of color.  You add the "bed sheet" lines the day after, if you catch my drift.

So, I notice this polish says, "Top coat".  That's a first for me as they mostly usually have a name and it ends there.  I thought for a top coat, it better deliver.  I decided to try with a light french tip.  I noticed the sparkles have a mirror like effect versus just iridescent glitter.  They reflect, not shimmer.  The picture shows a blue tone but you get grayish hues too. Your clothing plus surrounding light affects the color they reflect so I liked that.  If the room is not bright, the shine is not, so they seriously do tone down to fit the occasion.  What I liked best is how the formula settles on the nail bed.  You do not get one speck out of place where it stays lifted to catch stuff.  It does not chunk up and for once it works as advertised, a perfect top coat.  I love it and I'm looking forward to my second Essie perk on Klout that I will be sharing next.  By the way, I'm on day 5 with no chips or missing sparkle!
