It's not too late to give a Golden Gift with Ferrero Rocher®

DSCN1074

I was again very fortunate to be treated to a special gift from Influenster (www.influenster.com). I had no idea but they sent me a Golden Gift from Ferrero Rocher® (http://www.ferrerorocherusa.com). You can't imagine my surprise when I open the parcel and found a glimmering golden colored box with the most perfect bow to match. The bow even sways and bounces with joy when you move the box, it's as happy as I am!

Inside, I was greeted to golden chocolate jewels. They taste as good as they look. Every time I open a Ferrero Rocher® chocolate, the experience in itself is like unwrapping a present. You then see a perfect round treat that has a nice crunchy top made of hazelnut pieces held in place by chocolate....you then hit that crunchy wafer, followed by a dreamy hazelnut and chocolate filling. Pure joy!  Did I mention the best part?  You get an entire hazelnut to yourself.  No skimping here and I feel loved!

Let your friends and family experience the Ferrero Rocher® Golden Gift box too and they will not be disappointed!   Give love <3

You can also enter to win:From November 26, 2012 to January 1, 2013, you can send a Virtual Box to friends and family https://www.facebook.com/FerreroRocherUSA/app_417224685008452. Send to your friends and wish them a Happy Holiday. When you do, you'll be entered to win an 18-piece gift box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates.  Good luck!

A little of the history as described by this great company:

Ferrero Rocher® is a unique and delicious chocolate experience made by Italian chocolatier Ferrero, since 1982. The chocolates are a tempting combination of smooth chocolaty cream surrounding a whole hazelnut; within a delicate, crisp wafer. . . all enveloped in milk chocolate and finely chopped hazelnuts. The chocolates are individually wrapped in gold foil.

Please Note:

I received this item free of charge and I have zero obligation in providing a positive and/or negative review.  My review is my own opinion that may vary from yours and others.  I give my honest opinion about the products I receive and share my experiences with you, my wonderful followers!

@Influenster and @Ferrero Rocher USA provided me with this wonderful treat to review and share!  Thank you again!

SheSpeaks Blog Event brings you: Torani Holiday Flavors, Salted Caramel & Gingerbread

'Tis the season for sugary sweets, savory eats, and toasty, warm drinks rich in flavor and, sadly high in calories. What's a harried shopper to do when there's a high-brow coffee chain on every corner dangling their latest holiday-inspired yummers in your chilly little face?

Torani has your answer. Torani Gingerbread Sugar-Free and Torani Salted Carmel Sugar-Free syrups, just asking for a warm cider or hot coffee to be lovingly dropped into. I was fortunate enough to try these syrups, courtesy of SheSpeaks. So sit back, bundle up and dig in to this review.

Image

I must say of the bat, I'm usually not a fan of "sugar free" things, mostly due to the artificial sweeteners (this product contains Splenda) that give you a funky aftertaste or worse, change the intended flavor entirely. So I approached this with some trepidation, but kept an open mind. So when I dipped my pinkie into the Torani Salted Carmel Sugar-Free syrup, imagine my surprise when I was met with the same rich flavor one expects from such a decadent confection-inspired treat. It was rich, warm, with just a touch of a salty aftertaste. I could imagine drizzling this over ice cream, or giving a little kick to a hot chocolate. With little to no "splenda" taste to ruffle my feathers, I can easily see this syrup being put into regular rotation in my kitchen. It seemed to do wonders for my after-dinner coffee as well, so it didn't change with heating, thankfully. A real winner here, and with it being sugar-free, I can enjoy this with much less guilt than I would one of those coffee-chain liquid desserts we all know and love.

Now, the other flavor I received was the Torani Gingerbread Sugar-Free syrup. As much as I enjoyed the Salted Carmel Sugar-Free flavor, I must say that Gingerbread was a let down. I had extremely high hopes, as gingerbread in this house is a holiday staple, and the thought of a hot gingerbread coffee with frothed milk and sprinkles evaporated like so many sugarplum dreams after my first smell. It's just...off. And, sadly, the Splenda is right there. There's no denying that this has a sugar substitute, and you can tell right away. It's a shame, really, because there would have been so much I could have done with this, and now it's just 750ml of ick. I didn't taste it beyond the initial finger dip, it was that off-putting.

So, Torani Syrups is batting .500 with these seasonal flavors. Which usually isn't bad, but Torani Syrups have a permanent place in my pantry, and I usually trust them implicitly to deliver. I can say I will be picking up an extra Torani Sugar-Free Salted Carmel just in case, and because they're shelf-stable, I know I can count on the flavor to deliver for months and months.  Anyone up for some whipped cream that has a Salted Caramel flavor?  I am!  Oh, the possibilities of baked goods that I will make into a reality!  Happy Holidays Everyone!!

Thanks, SheSpeaks, for the opportunity to try these products.

VocalPoint RSVP Orgullosa Event

DSCN0956

I hosted another wonderful event for VocalPoint's RSVP division and like always, they were very generous with samples for my guests. I invited 12 people and 11 attended my event. They send products for about 8 to 9 guests but because I invite mostly couples, this always works out great for us. Unfortunately, one friend showed up without her partner because he was ill.

The party was focused around Traditions and the Holidays. I made wonderful desserts because it's a great way to keep my guests fed and happy. The sugar helps keep them motivated too!

At this event, we received 9 re-usable shopping bags with the Orgullosa logo, black in color, and I used these to give guests their samples. Now, here comes the goodies list that guests received:

  • Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (Original)

  • Puffs Ultra Soft and Strong tissue packs

  • Tide Pods

  • Downy Unstoppables in-wash scent booster in Shimmer (pink)

  • Gain in Original scent

  • Money Saving coupons

Items I was able to share and feature also included:

  • Swiffer Sweeper 2-in-1 Sweeping & Mopping Starter Kit

  • Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Original with Sponge (has a blue sponge-like backing)

  • Olay's Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo (Medium to Coarse Hair)

DSCN1005

I made a wonderful Cranberry-Apple Crisp that is a family tradition in our home but also made a basic pecan pie. I figured the best part of traditions are about making new ones, so I also got adventurous and made a bittersweet chocolate and pecan pie that ended up being the favorite. I included recipes for everyone so they can share with their families. My event was held on the 17th of November, so I brought a little touch of Thanksgiving and made mini cookies for guests to munch on. Having themed cookie cutters are always a nice way to add that holiday touch but an easy way to make a pie look more festive!

DSCN1006

The hit of the party was the product all the girls had seen in store but had not tried, the Olay Facial Hair remover. The duo comes from having a "pre-treatment" that is applied and this safeguards your skin from irritation. The box treats up to 12 applications, so a little goes a long way. You apply the pre-treatment that comes almost in a lip balm shape (you even twist it up and apply). You rub in the balm for about 20 seconds and to make sure your skin is protected. Don't over apply to hair you want removed because it will counter the removal. You then simply apply the treatment that smells less toxic than any other Hair removal cream I have used. You do not rub the second product in, you just gently apply and we found it was best to pat on. You leave it on for 6 to 8 minutes, with 10 minutes being the maximum. The results were mixed since I did have 4 guests use it and we even got one guy to try it on very fine back hair (just small patches). The skin guarding balm works excellent and this is something we all 100% agreed with but maybe it works too well. If you maybe get a little more balm by the root of the hair you want removed, it tends to stop the removal process right there and leaves you a stubble like hair at the end. I think practice will make the process better but even though most used it on fine hair, the medium to coarse hair formula did not remove that well. I would state after surveying the guests that tried it, 75% were happy with the results and the one male that we influenced to try was 100% happy because it worked perfectly on his back. This lead me to believe that because the face (upper lip) is curved, the balm needs to be applied well, meaning make sure to rub it in so you do not get build-up. At least I got a male fan now, though!

The second Proctor and Gamble product to get great reviews, the Downy Unstoppables. I kindly asked that my guests text me, e-mail, or call me just let me know quickly if you like it or not. Everyone loved them! These little add-ins leave your towels and sheets smelling fresher longer. I had two guests purchase the product but in the Lavender colored scent called Lush, and three others in the Teal colored scent called Fresh. I was so happy with the Unstoppables that I purchased one scent for the towels and a second scent for the sheets. What I like best, you control how much or little of a scent boost you want and the product works like described. A little goes a long way so that is always a major plus for me when it comes to Household products.

The Third winner was the Magic Erasers (both original and the duo one with the sponge). We all love them from cleaning the bathroom, to even the build up (scale) I get by the water dispenser in the fridge. There is really nothing these little guys do not brighten and even made a white colored Christmas decoration look like new after I used an eraser on it. It even removed the yellowing from years of displaying. I shared my tip on how I use a razor to cut the eraser to customize the size I need. This avoids any waste and helps me get to places where a full sized eraser would be awkward. Great to use on the door rails for the shower because you can cut to fit! Makes my erasers last longer too!

I love having these parties and VocalPoint even provides you with conversation cards. These parties are never dull and my guests love getting new items to try out. The coupons are generous as well, so it's a win-win for everyone. Thank you again VocalPoint for another great event!

Old Navy & Crowdtap Dress Campaign

DSCN0961
I am member of Crowdtap and part of the Old Navy Style Council. One of the perks of being a member is being able to have "share parties", where you and a guest visit an Old Navy store and pick-up items for free. I have participated in several of these parties from Tank-tops, Active Wear, to the latest Shorts collection. This time I was ecstatic to be able to participate in the latest Dress Collections from Old Navy. I received a coupon for myself and one for a guest (friend). They had many styles and colors to choose from. I wanted to add to my little black dress collection, so I opted for the one below:
DSCN1035

No need to dry-clean and that is a major plus in my book because I never make it to the dry-cleaners, and always have a bag of items that I truly intend to take but never do. I love with the weather we get in California, I can add a Cardigan for the colder days but can be comfortable and still look stylish for the warmer ones.

My friend opted for the latest trend, Sweater Dresses. I loved this one but did not want to walk out looking like a twin so I am waiting for the other color to come in stock and in my size. I also like that the dress can work as a top with skinny jeans. Very trendy and versatile.
DSCN1036

Like always, Old Navy charges fair prices for what they sell. Make sure to cruise the Clearance section because you can find the best bargains there on items that they quickly clear out. I always check on-line www.oldnavy.com on what I want to look for beforehand because I tend to lose focus when I enter the store. They have so many items that I tend to forget what I was looking for in the first place so this gives me ideas on what items I want to see in person. I always walk away purchasing more than I planned for but I never regret it because most times it's because the items had sale prices that I did not plan for. They even had dog jackets on clearance, so of course I picked one up!
