Pheenx Pets "Big Bone" Squeaker Toy for Dogs

We're dog people in this house, and some might say our pooch rules the roost. She took over the garage about 12 years ago and doesn't seem to be willing to concede ownership back to us any time soon. She also in a connoisseur of dog toys, even now in her rip old age. If it's sub-par, she'll soon find a way to let us know, and it usually involves a pile of fluff in the middle of the floor. We were pleasantly surprised to find that this Pheenx Pets "Big Bone" Squeaky Toy met muster.

Made of durable plush fleece fabric, with a "honk" type squeaker instead of the piercing high-pitched type, and with a "tail" at the end made of braided rope, this toy checked off just about every metric required by our 55lbs of furry fury. After a long period of sniffing inspection, this Big Bone became her most favorite-est thing EVER for the next couple of weeks. The braided rope stood up to her tug-of-war games, and sailed quite nicely when thrown for fetch. When not in "people" use, the rope and squeaker could be heard in the garage getting the working over of a lifetime. In fact, it was one of the few toys deemed "worthy of bed", while most toys in the bed get dropped out with a quickness.

While she's not particularly rough on toys, the poor quality ones tend to get exposed quite quickly. This Pheenx Pets Big Bone Squeaker Toy held up well, was much beloved, and almost made us wish we'd saved it for Christmas for her, but it would make an absolutely awesome toy for those with more willpower than us. One look and the face when she saw it, and we knew it had to be hers immediately. At only $8.99 it's a steal, and we've paid twice as much before for half the quality. You should probably pick up one for your furry friend too.

RichCraft Products Premium Burlap Roll with No-Fray Edges

cropped-header1
I've been crafting with burlap now for about a year, and if there was one thing that really chapped my bottom, it was the fraying edges of most standard burlap. It's messy, it's nearly impossible to mend a straight edge to it, and consequently keeping straight lines on projects was a futile effort. And then RichCraft came along and offered me their Premium Burlap "Table Runner" roll with "No Fray" edges. It's like the clouds parting on a cloudy day and feeling the sun shine on your face.

RichCraft uses a tightly-knit, super premium natural burlap fabric that isn't patchy and full of holes, but retains that rustic charm inherent to burlap fabric. But they went the extra mile and sewed over the edges to insure you don't have little bits and strings sticking out all over the place, which had become my number one complaint working with burlap. The texture is uniform, unlike most industrial or low-grade burlap, and you get 10 yards of 12" premium burlap to work with. They call it a "Table Runner" roll, and I have no doubt it would look stunning as a table runner, but there's so much more you can do with it, because it's made so well and doesn't make the same mess you'd be used to with normal burlap. You can even make placemats to go with the table runner, the possibilities are endless!

There's a lot of burlap fabric out there, and some of it is terrible to work with. It's messy, poorly woven, with jute thread of varying sizes throughout, making any project a little bit harder to complete. RichCraft's Premium Burlap Roll is one of the first I've used with sewn edges, and I'll have a very hard time going back to my other burlap rolls after this. RichCraft has spoiled me! It's a little pricey, but you have to balance quality with price, and I feel RichCraft has hit that sweet spot with both. I highly recommend their Premium Burlap Table Runner Roll!

Glytterati Men's Wedding Band Titanium w/ Gold Ion Plating

logo

Hubby wears no jewelry, save for his wedding band. In fact, he's adamant about it. Years and years ago, I got him a tungsten carbide band, with three diamonds in it. Because he's rough on his ring, and his old gold band had seen better days. And he needs a ring that can stand up to every day beatings, and still not look like an old run-over lock nut he found in a parking lot. But, steel is steel, even if it's tungsten, and I wanted something nicer for when we go out, and boy howdy if this Titanium and Gold Band from Glytterati doesn't fit that need to a tee!

With titanium rings, it seems a lot of manufacturers want to put all manner of goofy inlays, of intricate designs, or laser etch something trendy into it. Finding a simple, elegant ring that is at least 8mm used to be a nightmare for me. Anything smaller on Hubby's sausage fingers tends to look...feminine. His original tungsten band was 9mm, and it still looked slim on his finger, but the gold ion plating of the Gytterati ring sets off the edges and makes the 8mm band look a little larger.  The gold ion plating runs from one edge, all around the inside, and back to the other edge and is polished to a mirror finish. Running around the middle of the band is a brushed silver titanium that contrasts nicely while having a beautiful luster. The inside of the band is comfort-fit, so sliding the ring off and on won't be a problem, and it's thin enough that it won't add to the callous on his palm like his tungsten ring. It's also easily half the weight of Hubby's old tungsten carbide ring, all while being just as thick. The flat edges top and bottom are a little rougher than the rounded edges of his old ring, but the fit is still nice and Hubby frequently forgets he's wearing it.

One small issue is that, for a lot of these types of rings, they only come in whole sizes, and Hubby is a half. He squeezes his finger into a ten, but really he needs a 10 & 1/2. So my only complaint is I wish they came in half sizes. Titanium wears well and is very scratch resistant, but should you get a scratch on it, there's almost no way to buff it out like gold, silver or platinum. But Glytterati offers both their "lifetime guarantee" and their "Scratch Proof Guarantee" in which they state should your ring scratch easily, or gets damaged, or you just don't like it, return it for a full refund. I would assume the return shipping cost is up to you. The Glytterati Titanium Band looks much nicer than the $14.99 price point belies, and I'm glad Hubby got to try one out.
