Swaggable: Rock your Hair by Michael O' Rourke, Bombshell Big Hair Powder

DSCN4028

I have fine hair but not thinning. Every time I get my hair done, my hairstylist comments about how much hair I have and may I add it's down to my waist. One thing about fine hair is when you curl it, it takes easy to the curling but holding it is another story and this also comes to volume. I can have my hair up in a bun and let it go to then resemble a lion but 3 hours later.....my roaring powers have vanished. It sort of leaves me not wanting to dedicate too much time in building up volume when I know it will find the exit sign so quickly.

I received a bottle of Michael O' Rourke's, Rock your Hair Bombshell Big Hair powder. My first instinct was, "great another dry hair shampoo". I have had a not so loving experience with dry hair shampoos and most leave me feeling itchy or worst, with a residue that I can't wait to wash out. I have tried them in spray form to just powder out of a bottle. The worst part is trying a product out for the first time and seeing white particles in your hair and you know that means you can't even walk out the door. Shaking my locks in the shower in order to dust off the powder residue makes me feel like I am half Chinchilla anyways!

Packaging:
So, I see the packaging and get a little worried because when there is a lot going on with the outside, it usually means what comes out of the inside is not a sparkly performance like the rhinestones (shaped into a heart) on the outside, but I move onward nonetheless. I may add the heart is a decal and of course I gave it a few little scratches to see if it's easily removed and it's not, so save yourself a broken or chipped nail. I was good and stopped when my nail polish told me so. The powder comes out easily and because the bottle has a thin neck, you can easily use the tap-tap method to control how much you want. I also like that they added a cap (with holes) so you can't over pour/shake. Still want that heart though.......

Performance:
I begin by applying less than a 1/4 teaspoon to the roots of my hair but I noticed the product details on the packaging that for extra shine and texture, you can add it to the rest of your hair. Okay, this much better than other dry shampoos/styling powders where they forbid it leaving your hair roots and scalp but no one gave the powder the memo! I work it in and notice that the product thickens the feeling of the hair and begin to style. I then just feel the results because it does liquefy and vanishes!  I got volume instantly by just using my hands and it was holding. The powder stays on the roots but if it happens to meet with gravity and fall to a lower level, I am not punished with white flakes or any telltale sign that I put powder in my hair. It definitely is a styling product that works and because I believe if you want clean hair that means you need to wash it like with shampoo and WATER, I won't comment on how it cleans your locks :). The product smells clean and that is as far as I go there. The volume on my fine hair remained and that evening I washed my hair so I did not get any build-up or a visit from the greasy hair demon. Using the small amount I used and the volume lasting, this is a must and look it at as an insurance policy for your hairstyle! I consider this a must buy and a great addition to my future 2014 hairstyles!

Swaggable: REBOOTizer Supplement Wellness Booster Drink

DSCN4025

With 2013 coming to a close, I tend to misbehave starting December 23rd. I have a trial run of misbehaving around Turkey Day but I try to pretend that never happened. With the stress of the holidays, the under-eating I do because I am busy shopping, decorating, running around and the overeating I do when we have gatherings......well, my body is not liking me right now. The feeling is mutual :P

DSCN4026

I received a box with 3 drinks that resemble those foil like lunch time drinks we had in school but those were pure sugar-laced junk with some banned coloring. Rebootizer is described as a Swiss formulated Wellness Booster. You have antioxidant support and detox assistance. I need some assistance and more of a miracle at the moment but we can start by hitting F5 with this and see how things turn out. This is a 3-Day system but they recommend a regimen of at least 6 consecutive days each month. We shall see if a "soft reboot" works then.

  • Day 1:

Very simple to just squeeze to puncture the pouch but I made sure to do it over the sink and away from me because I have learned my lesson in the past and did not need a second shower that day. The drink smells herby, vitamin-ish and a touch of citrus with a hint of sweetness. So do we say sugary grassy bark? The main ingredients are Dandelion Root extract, Licorice Root extract, Angelica Flower extract, Lemon Balm extract, Acerola extract and Lemon extract. You have other ingredients like water, sucrose and Maltodextrin. I drink it and dispose of the pouch and I'm an Emergen-C drinker but this is nothing in taste or flavor like that. I don't feel anything so I figure I walk and see what happens.

Well, I walked, cleaned, browsed on-line and other non-interesting things and one thing that happened was I forgot I had anything until I was peeling an onion for dinner and saw the pouch in the trash. I am not seeing double so nothing good or bad has happened so far.

  • Day 2:

I was able to be victorious and only spilled a teaspoon amount when I squeezed the package open but none of it got on me! Again, I figure I walk it off and see what happens.

Dinner time comes but this time I made sure to see if anything I felt was different, better, an improvement......I'll take a tickle at this time but nothing. I am not even going to the restroom any differently but I'm hydrated, so that is sort of positive.

  • Day 3:

Since the product says to shake, I shook with gusto thinking maybe that would help. I did remember to put the third pouch in the fridge and the cold did help make the product taste less sweet. Again, had my drink and went about my day. This time I decided to read more about the ingredients and claims because I know about free radicals but it's always good to refresh our knowledge. The product states it helps with oxidative stress that can aid the bad "stuff" like weight issues, chronic conditions to fatigue and aging. I figure I use every cream and anti-aging product I can get my hands on so why no try a "inwards works outwards" approach here.

Day No. 3 came and went and I did notice some changes but unfortunately with a 3-Day sample on a recommended 6 day every 30 days system, I cannot report on a full detox regarding Rebootizer. It's one of those products that need to be used long-term to see any results I would imagine.

Check out REBOOTizer on:

DSCN4024

I will try contacting the company and see if I can end this review on a better note than a "?". I started with a question mark about the product and ended that way, so if I am able to try a true full regimen from Rebootizer, I shall return to report :)

I received the above product from Swaggable and Rebootizer, free of charge. I am not obligated to provide positive or favorable feedback, just my honest opinion. My review is based on my experience with the brand and/or it's products, which may differ from yours.

Swaggable: The Honest Kitchen FORCE Dehydrated Dog Food

DSCN4021

Our mutt is the type of dog that finds the cheapest toys the most fun to play with but when it comes to food, she is offended by the oddest of things. Actually gives me that face questioning if I am serious about her eating something she is particularly not fond of (at that second) and then comes the waiting game. I try to wait until she eats it and she waits until something else (better) is served. I have seen this dog eat a Flaming Hot Cheeto (extra hot edition), so she does not convince me she has some kind of "refined" palette after she ate that! I also find her liking raw carrots one day and not the next, so this is her plan to drive me crazy. I don't appreciate how she acted like they were radiated and left me a exploded carrot by her dish as a sign of protest!

In comes Force, a dehydrated whole foods product by The Honest Kitchen. First thing that catches me eye, it states "Human Grade" on the package. Okay, I'm not even sure everything I eat is such a grade so this definitely is the dog one upping me! The flavor sounds more like a dish you order, Free-Range Chicken with Vegetables and Fruit (grain-free). Makes my all-beef hot dog I had for dinner not so special now, even though I opted for spicy brown mustard :) You have other details like a Guaranteed Analysis disclosure, which let's you know the crude protein, fat, fiber to even caloric count. The food is made in an FDA inspected facility! So, this is all good but does the Cheeto Bandit approve?

DSCN4022

Simple Preparation:
I added Organic Low-Sodium beef broth I had left over from making stuffing to the dehydrated food. Think instant oatmeal for dogs when preparing this dish for your pet. The food actually smells like chicken and contains potatoes, celery, sweet potato, apples, organic alfalfa to even organic flax seed and herbs like basil and rosemary. You mix the package with 1/3 of a cup of warm water (foo-foo broth in my case), wait about 5 minutes and serve. The food absorbs the liquid and you do not even need to stir, so no need to walk in with the "dog's spoon" that must be put in the dishwasher ASAP.

Mutt Approved:
I did the above and served it. The pooch inspected and sniffed and then wagged. If she wags while eating and looks back but continues eating, that means it's a "Yay". If she sniffs, looks back and then comes over and looks at your hands to see if you got anything else to offer the Dog Goddess, it's a "Nay". The goddess approved and I did not get my paws checked for other offerings. She ate it all and cleaned her bowl better than my dishwasher cleans that last glass in the corner!

DSCN3368

I thought the idea of making my own wet food for my dog would be......well, icky but this is not only a Honest Kitchen product but a clean one. It's simple and easier than making a cup of soup in the microwave, and that means no microwave is needed and no mixing required. She loved it and the ingredients are remarkable. Force loves their furry consumers more than some companies like us humans! You can also opt to serve the product alone or as a topper for their kibble, so you can skip on adding any liquid. I also like that 10 pounds of Force food makes 40 pounds of fresh food! Force products are also GMO free, Gluten free and produced in the USA by a family owned and operated business.

Swaggable: Farmer's Market Lemongrass Lemon Soap by Beaumont Products, Inc

When I received this bar of soap, the first thing I noticed was the aromatic scent it left in my mailbox. The scent is strong but very pleasant and not just because it's soap, the bar has a very clean and welcoming smell.

You will notice by the ingredients listed below, that this soap is made with ingredients you can pronounce, recognize and friendly to not only a human but the environment :) My take has always been that I will opt for an environment friendly product as long as it performs equal or better than the science created one. I watch my chemicals closely because not everything from a lab will hurt you but unfortunately some may, and especially with long term use. This soap is as friendly as it gets and so far has passed the nose test but how does it leave my skin?

LEMONGRASS BASIL Ingredients (as listed from their site):
Organic sodium palmate, organic sodium cocoate, aqua, organic and natural glycerine, sodium citrate, organic essential oils: ocimum basilicum (basil) oil, citrus medica limonum (lemon) peel oil, cymbopogon schoenanthus (lemongrass) oil, citrus aurantium dulcis (sweet orange) oil, organic butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, organic elaeis guineensis (palm) butter, organic simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, organic vaccinium angustifolium (blueberry) fruit and organic persea gratissima (avocado).

DSCN3790

Performance Test:
I first tested the bar out by simply washing my hands in case the oils the scent derives from would be too strong. The bar lathers quickly and with very little product needed. I was able to get a nice foam within a few seconds, which lasted and that meant not needing to go back to the bar to sustain the lather. I washed for 1 minute and then rinsed the soap off. I dislike soaps that leave a film that when you rinse, it feels like nothing came off the hand and you actually feel more dirty than when you washed. Thankfully, this is not one of those soaps! Yes, my hands felt soft but remained breathable. The scent left behind is that of clean and you are not left with a "perfume-y" cloud emitting from your finger tips. The shea butter in the soap left my skin supple and soft!

DSCN3793

Final Results:
I used the soap for a week and the bar barely looks used and that means the product will last long. I am an "Ivory girl" because I enjoy a clean feeling and not bars that are supposed to feel like you washed your hands with lotion. This bar left my hands soft, hydrated and actually help combat the dry hands I get in Winter from over washing. No oily residue left behind that you then spread onto everything you touch and I also judge a soap's build-up by how my sink looks within that week I used the bar. My sink was also residue free and left clean! I saw that Farmer's Market has other scents and like Blackberry Preserves, Apple Orchard to even Pumpkin Spice and Unscented. I will share that I kept the box and once the soap dries, I put it back in and it makes the bathroom smell really nice, so that was another positive I found welcoming.

Farmer's Market soap retails for $4.99 a bar and are made in the U.S.A

Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven, Argile Nettoyante Masque

DSCN3965

7th Heaven, Argile Nettoyante Masque is part of Montagne Jeunesse's "Clean Up Mud" collection. Considered a volcanic mud exfoliating masque.

Volcanic Clay, is considered to purify and with the finely grounded Lava Pumice added, you will get to the "new you" with this baby! The masque is intended to clean-out the yuck and welcome in the baby smooth skin and it does deliver a unique blend of ingredients that will get you there. ****We have reached Giveaway Time, stay Tuned****

DSCN3963

So, is it more than Lava Rocks?

7th Heaven uses a high quality Volcanic Clay that helps with evening skin tone to removing that dull appearance. The clay is rich in nutrients from minerals that aid with removing sebum that causes skin issues to giving your skin a firmer appearance The pumice effect gives you that edge in exfoliating and works as an extra insurance in resurfacing that beautiful glowing skin! Added benefits come from Organic Rosemary and Witch Hazel. Rosemary, is an ingredient you find listed in many at-home tonics and there is many reasons why. From the plant to the oil it produces, the benefits range from increasing blood flow, firming and toning to even having anti-inflammatory properties. Also included is Organic Aloe Vera and Organic Cloves. Cloves? Um, I'm hammed out by now but Cloves goes beyond just holding pineapple rings down on your ham! Cloves, have antiseptic properties and the Eugenol compound found in them help with acne to reducing swelling. Call it a puffiness killer! Just because 7th Heaven treats us so well, the masque also includes Organic White Willow and Organic Tree Oil. I have used Tree Oil for many things but I first started when I heard it was great for spot treatments associated with blemishes. I love being able to cure things naturally whenever possible!

DSCN3964

Final Results
I was an Apricot Scrub user for.......well, let's just say years because I started to count and Junior High came up and then I thought about HOW MANY years are in between. Let's say Apricot Pits are so yesterday and it's all about the Lava Pumice! The pumice is better and I reward whoever finely crushes it so Mr. Lava Rock Crusher....thank you! The fine texture did not allow me to over exfoliate and because it is a masque and begins to dry, your play time is ended and that means the chance to cause damage does to. I left the masque on for 20 minutes and after removing, I loved the results. Out of all the masks, my skin liked how the Argile Nettoyante exfoliated best. It beat the face brush I was using and I got 2 uses out of one packet. You just can't find a more nourishing product on the market for the price point and a packet is easier to store than a bottle!

7th Heaven, Montagne Jeunesse Argile Miracle Masque

DSCN3959

7th Heaven Montagne Jeunesse Argile Miracle, part of the Miracle Mud collection. This is the second masque I tried and discovered all muds are not created equally. ***Getting Closer to Giveaway Time, so stay tuned***

The Argile Miracle Masque contains Dead Sea Mud along with Dead Sea Salt. This mud aids in the brightening of the skin by helping remove dead skin's cells but also giving the new skin surfacing pretty much a healthy shake full of benefits.

DSCN3962

Let's break down the Masque:
By providing the new skin with a huge dose of hydration and minerals, it really gets it's start on the right foot. The rich minerals found in the mud moisten the surface and allows everything from blood flow to oxygen to reach those very hungry cells. Your pores are unclogged and you will visually notice a reduction in size, giving you a more youthful appearance and your skin will also feel softer to the touch. The mud is also rich in vitamins so you will be left with improved skin to regenerated cells. Dead Sea mud is rich in salt too! Sodium helps detoxify and exfoliate, to just simply sanitize your skin. Salt also helps draw out toxins that may cause issues like acne, clogged pores, to black and white heads. Other riches found in the mud are Magnesium, Potassium and Calcium.

The Argile Miracle Masque gets it's magic not only from the Dead Sea but from the other ingredients it has. You have Organic Baobab, considered a super fruit and has more Vitamin C than oranges. Organic Marula Oil, considered an anti-aging ingredient that helps rejuvenate, hydrate, and also filled with fatty acids. The oil also provides a layer of protection because it is full of antioxidants. You will also find Organic Aloe Vera, Dulse Seaweed, and Marine Mud.

DSCN3960

The Double Punch of Mud and Goodies Difference:

I thought I would not notice a difference from one mud to another but since this one has both Dead Sea Mud and Marine Mud, I was hoping for double the "ooh-la-la". The masque was applied and left on for 25 minutes and blame the phone call I got at 15 minutes for my 5 minute lapse! After wiping off the phone and hanging up, I washed my face and patted dry. I noticed a reduction in pore size and my skin felt soft, not over dry at all. I had gotten a little on my eyebrow and eye area (unsure how, let's blame the phone call on that too) but I experienced no issues thankfully, and I do have sensitive skin in my area after an allergic reaction I experienced this summer with an "Urban" eye primer. It was good to know that I was safe but I would recommend still being careful when you apply. I applied my make-up and then went off about my day.

Final Verdict:

I would consider this masque from the 7th Heaven family a keeper because it is not hard on my skin. This masque would be my "maintainer", meaning it helps maintain my skin but is not a corrector or detoxifier. I don't always need rescue masks and I use the detox ones on a bi-weekly basis, so the Argile Miracle would be my mini weekly spa retreat!

Montagne Jeunesse, 7th Heaven Argile de Detoxification

DSCN3957

This holiday season I have experienced a cold that turned into a flu, plus with the added stress.....well, my skin showed everything I had been going through. I want my skin to look great all year round but with meeting up with friends and family, this is the time of year the camera comes out and I really do not want to remember 2013's holiday season along with the havoc my skin has gone through. Oh yeah, I remember that pimple on my cheek where I never get it until two days into December! I was ready to turn things around and hopefully 7th Heaven will be my salvation!  ***Giveaway will be launched soon, so stay tuned***

DSCN3956

I was sent three masques to try and I quickly reached out for what I felt explained perfectly what I need, the Argile De Detoxification Deep Pore Cleaning Masque. In 15 to 20 minutes, I have a chance to change my skin and it's appearance and you bet I am taking it!

This Masque is part of the "Detox Mud" collection and I already like how 7th Heaven carries lines that can be paired up with your skin's needs to the results you desire. Yes, make it easy for me because at this point with all the glitter everywhere, I am wondering if that is clogging my skin (yes, I walk out like a cat lady with cat hairs, but my evidence is glitter-rama). You know you have hit your glitter quota when you look in your mailbox and yes.....there was glitter even in there so now it's even getting delivered! Your Argile de (aka:glitter) Detoxification starts with Glacial Mud, which is rich in minerals that help get rid of dead skin cells while at the same time softening and purifying your skin. You think of mud and dryness may come to mind but that is not the case with Glacial Mud, the mud hydrates by actually attracting water! You then have Organic White Tea, which I have mentioned before I absolutely love. You have zero adverse effects with a product like White Tea because it's gentle but rich in antioxidants....the stuff that attacks those free radicals that love to ruin the day, and your skin. Free radicals can be blamed for pretty much everything from damaging your skin, accelerating aging and causing not only problems to your outward appearance but your overall well being. Probably even the holes in the ozone layer. Okay, maybe not that.

Flavonoids, a class of antioxidants, inhibits the growth of cancer cells and prevent the development of new ones so if I could bathe in tea, I would! The good stuff continues with Organic With Hazel, Organic Aloe Vera, Organic Ginseng, to Organic Cucumber. Another ingredient is Quillaja (aka: Soapbark tree), which is usually used in place of Xanthan Gum (emulsifier) but Quillaja has added benefits. Current studies have seen benefits in acne to even dandruff problems. Quillaja is not only was safe for sensitive skin but provided less oil production and allowed your pores to look smaller. I also liked that the study found a reduction in acne lesions......please, oh please annihilate that cheek pimple that is right where my dimple is so I love how when I smile it likes to move up and down!

DSCN3955

Let the discovery of the new me begin:

I applied the masque in the shower because I was short on time but I also like how mud/clay masks perform by using this wet and dry method. I felt a cooling effect that opened up my pores and I thank the peppermint oil present in the masque for that wake-up call. I made sure to apply the masque knowing I would be out in 10 minutes. I then made sure to remember to not dry my face and walked out with the masque still on. I like using my time wisely when I pretend I am having a mini spa day, so the last 10 minutes I did things like put more lotion on my feet to those forgotten elbows. After 20 minutes, the masque had changed colors and had dried, so I washed my face and softly patted with a towel. I applied my creams, serums and magic potions and then headed off to bed. The next day, I awoke and my cheek pimple was no longer pudgy and pink. I had a thin scab but no hardness in the center like it had for 2 long days. The thing had finally dried out and was now healing versus playing the game of I may burst today if I feel like it but then there is tomorrow. I looked in the mirror and my skin had a glow but that imbalance issue I was experiencing while sick was now gone. For some reason when I get the flu, my forehead likes to get oily along with my chin. My nose then gets enlarged pores and starts pretending to look like Rudolph, so I was glad to drop the red nose act that I blame my overuse of tissue on. Thankfully, the pain I felt in the corner of my nose was gone and I was so glad because I hate those "blind pimples" that hurt and enlarge the area but never come out to play (get popped). The masque had definitely kicked the no face pimple out. I applied my make-up and went Christmas shopping!

DSCN3958

Final Verdict:

I would buy this masque again and again and even use it as a spot treatment for acne and blemishes, even though that is not what the product was made for. I apply make-up more frequently in December and sometimes even go wash my face to change to a evening look, so my skin gets dry to even producing more oil in my "t-zone" area because I have stripped the good oils too. If I felt an area where a blemish may be trying to come through, I would sleep with a dot of something over the area and the next day the pimple would be dry or it would decide to wreak havoc on someone else. No matter what.....it skipped me! I want to be skipped with the yuck stuff wants to attack my skin! Get this mask because not only does it help get your skin back on the healthy track when you were ill, but it also helps keep it there.

Smiley360: PepBoys Automobile Campaign with Oil Change

DSCN3536

I usually do not get automobile oriented missions but even though I'm a female, I do enjoy rewarding our truck as she has provided us with years of reliable service.

DSCN3584

The PepBoys kit included everything from a great coupon to save on oil changes, a car air freshener, a flash drive, and a gift card to try out PepBoy's services. I Googled our nearest PepBoy's and we had three to choose from, which were reasonably located. I opted for the PepBoys Auto shop that was closest to us. Think of a satellite store and this is a PepBoys where the majority of it's business is repair versus a store with merchandise. The Pomona, California store (#1439) is very clean and a girl like me appreciates that but what I appreciated more was the level of service. Alex, the manager was very pleasant and makes sure the customers needs are met but also that the services are provided within a fair amount of time. I did not make an appointment so call me a "walk-in". I arrived on a Monday and the store was busy so this is a good sign for me! We had three vehicles ahead of us and when I got there and before I even sat, I saw 3 more cars arrive behind us. You can see your vehicle being worked on so that is also a major plus. Hey, I love our truck so I want to make sure she is okay when seeing a doctor (mechanic) :). The entire process took about an hour on this busy day. The service was more than just an oil change because PepBoy's package included a complimentary vehicle inspection. I thought it would be generic but the employee did do a visual inspection on everything, along with notations, plus topped off the coolant. I saw him do it and he was thorough! No pushing of extra unneeded services, parts, and/or warranties. Very courteous and our truck was returned as clean as when it was given.

I would most definitely will be returning because I was in and out in a less amount of time than it takes at the dealership, plus I don't have to wait hours for a simple service and then be at the mercy of their shuttle service. I did not have to make an appointment for what I consider routine maintenance like I do with the dealership too. For $19.99 plus taxes, our truck left happy :)

SheSpeaks: Lancome DreamTone Customized Skin Tone Correcting Serum

I received the DreamTone by Lancome from SheSpeaks and with the hefty price tag of $98.00, this was a product that had to wow me with results to make it worthwhile.

DSCN3744

What it Does:
DreamTone is a customized skin-tone correcting serum. I like serums because they are usually light in texture and quickly absorbed by my skin. My pigmentation selection was no. 1 for Fair complexions, however the line also comes in no. 2 for Medium skin-tones and no. 3 for Darker complexions. DreamTone is formulated as a dark spot and blemish diminisher, meaning it will lighten the pigmentation associated with these marks. It reduces redness and also targets imperfections and you are left with a overall smooth skin appearance that improves with use. Changes and improvements should be seen and felt at the one week period with a higher satisfaction rate at the 4 week point. Maximum overall changes should be present in 8 weeks.

Ingredients: Water, Cyclohexasiloxane, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat., Hydroxypropyl Tetrahydropyrantriol, Squalane, Isopropyl Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Polysilicone-11, Peg-10 Dimethicone, Hydroxyphenoxy Propionic Acid, Grifola Frondosa Fruiting Body Extract, Carbomer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hydroxide, Inulin Lauryl Carbamate, Aluminum Hydroxide, Mannitol, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Ammonium Polyacryldimethyltauramide / Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Disodium Edta, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15, Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate, Acrylates Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Ci 19140 / Yellow 5, Ci 75470 / Carmine, Ci 77163 / Bismuth Oxychloride, Ci 77891 / Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Geraniol, Eugenol, Limonene, Citronellol, Benzyl Alcohol, Fragrance.

I was able to test DreamTone a little shy of 4 weeks and was able to get an idea if DreamTone is a buy or pass.

Results:

  1. At the 1 week point, I did notice that my skin remained smooth and I very much like how the product distributed throughout my skin. Cosmetics tended to flow better, as in foundations went on smoother and I did not have any negative effects like make-up caking up hours later or any adverse skin issues. The product did not increase any acne breakouts but it also did not decrease them. I did not notice any pigmentation changes in the first 7 days.

  2. At the 2 week period, I still benefited from the aforementioned results and did notice a "glow" improvement in my skin. I had a nice healthy shine that was not greasy or oily in nature, more like a brightness. My skin did remain healthy looking but again no improvement in any of the pigmentation issues or skin tone improvements.

  3. I reached the 3 week mark and with continual use, I did feel my skin improve by retaining a healthy glow and my skin's dullness had improved. My imperfections, like the small darker tone marks that I had from my last break-out (3 weeks ago), were lighter. Going by the history of how my skin rejuvenates on it's own with exfoliation, this is my regular cycle so I did not reward those benefits to Lancome's DreamTone. I thankfully have fair skin that tends to fight to remain pale no matter how much I wish to tan and thankfully this goes for any marks I may get for popping a blemish I should have left alone. Hard to detour from such behavior when my punishment only last about 3 to 4 weeks on my face!

  4. Reaching the 4 week time span, I found that I like to use DreamTone as a base/primer for my make-up. The product really does help achieve the greatest results in a smooth make-up application even though this was not an advertised claim. I did not breakout from the product as DreamTone tends to protect my skin nicely. I even experimented with several new cosmetic lines and did not get the punishment I usually get by getting new blemishes or skin reactions like clogged pores or even redness. I did feel that the serum provides a almost preventative effect. Mattifying  or evening of the skin-tone was achieved but my freckles and the appearance of dark spots did not reflect a noticeable difference, but technically I am still in the middle of what is considered optimum results in 8 weeks.

DSCN3743

Would I buy it?
This is where some of us take for granted results already obtained, we make them ours and forget what got us there in the first place. DreamTone did smooth out and even my skin's tone, plus it made my make-up perform better. In other words, it improved how my cosmetics work and also protected me when I used a new product. That alone has a value but I'm unsure on the $98 price point for what I really used as a base (primer?) and still had to take into consideration the cost of a moisturizer and an anti-aging product. With continual use, DreamTone should give me skin that needs less coverage from make-up and give me the courage to go bare......but I'm not there yet! Have I lightened on my foundation use? Yes, because Lancome's DreamTone does allow my foundation to glide on meaning I can work more magic while I blend and use less at the same time. I use a corrector on a light basis anyways and I did not feel that fluctuated in use with DreamTone.

In Conclusion:
Yes, I would buy it but unsure at the $98 price point. I have been convinced to spend between $50 and $75 for what I have achieved and if I get more added benefits by week 8, then that would be the deciding factor in if I will pony up the addition $50 to $25 dollars. I will be updating this review if I reach week 8 and have more to jazz about. The product does come in a generous amount of 1.3 fluid ounces and because it is a serum, a small amount is needed. It may be that I'm the consumer that needs a "deluxe sized" bottle for how I have used and seen DreamTone perform. I suggest visiting Sephora, Macy's or even Ulta and ask for a sample size before making a full purchase. I do hope they make a smaller size because that also means a smaller price point :)

Eslor Botanical Peeling Gel

And the hits just keep on comin'!

Eslor offers two exfoliants in their extensive beauty line. At first I thought why not keep it simple, like the face wash, by offering one product. However, each resurfaces differently. Let me explain:

DSCN3201

The Eslor Botanical Peeling Gel aids with the reduction of unwanted shine, refines/shrinks pores, and also serves as a skin brightener. Since the product is a gel and a peel, it makes the removal of dead skin cells easy and after application you are left with a smooth surface that will appear and also feel softer. The Botanical Peeling Gel is for Combination, Dry and Sensitive skin. I have used chemical peels and microdermabrasion in the past to achieve exfoliation. I feel this Botanical Peeling Gel is everything you want minus the harsh chemicals, and uses the botanical properties present in the formula to resurface in a more "skin friendly" manner.

Instructions for Use: The instructions indicate use of this product once or twice a week. You apply the gel all over your skin when the skin is dry. Avoid your eye area since the skin is more sensitive there. You leave the peel on for 5 to 10 minutes and the peel tends to almost melt or thin out as it's exposed to the air and warmth from your skin. You do not drip the product off but it does liquefy as the application period passes. Your final step is then to just use your fingers and rub (gently) in a circular motion and then rinse with warm water.

Ingredients: Being that the product is botanical in nature, you see in the list of ingredients Aloe Vera as a gel base and listed first. Aloe Vera has a multitude of benefits and in my opinion there is no reason it should not be used in place of the H2O we seem to pay for in beauty products. Extracts are present that are derived from Chamomile, Papaya, to Pineapple. Chamomile has calming effects, while Papaya and Pineapple have proteins that do help with the resurfacing process. Papaya is rich in BHAs (beta hydroxyl acids) and the fruit's benefits range from lightening dark spots (pigmentation) to evening skin tone. Pineapple like Papaya help with anti-aging and the acids assist with the rejuvenation process we all so desire. Carbomer is also on the list and this helps with the solution of the beauty product, meaning how it emulsifies (thickens) and spreads out. Think about what makes a toothpaste formula stay whipped and not separate in the tube, so it is harmless and a product really created for the beauty and health industry. Sea Buckthorn oil is also listed in the peel and this aids with anti-aging due to it's richness in tocopherols, tocotrienols and plant sterols. To give you an idea, Sea Buckthorn oil is used on skin burns so it does wonders when used in beauty products! Triethanolamine is another ingredient and this serves as a pH balancer.

DSCN3874

Results: I have mashed Papaya and Pineapple in the past to create a mask but because individual fruit does differ in acid percentages and even nourishment, I like that Eslor has done the "lab work" for me, and I don't have to guess how long to keep this peel on by how it feels. Not good when feeling "burny", since means this Pineapple had kick and you left the mask on too long (Ouch!). The other ingredients help counteract the redness you may get when exfoliating, and you get to benefit from calming agents that we do not all readily have at hand. My skin has been feeling soft and I like that this peel also purified my pores by cleaning out the junk, so this means less break-outs and better looking skin. Less make-up is another benefit and that means I not only see savings in that arena, but I also just like how the peel makes my skin look without make-up. I got away with using it once a week and this was just determined by the lasting effects I felt and saw. It took a week to lose the best glow I have had with a skin product and by then I was again using the peel. Shiny!

Price Point with Product Details: The product retails for $38.00 for a 2 Fluid Ounce Bottle. I used a small amount that ranged a little under a nickel's worth in size. I made sure to avoid eye areas and if I plucked my eyebrows that day, I skipped this task to avoid irritation.

Eslor Soothing Refiner and Cleanser Wash Review

DSCN3198

As a blogger, you always wish for that quintessential time that you are united with a product, manufacture, company, ect., which will literally blow you away with the results. That moment that reaffirms why you love to do what you do.....and my experience with Eslor has been just such a moment. I received a lovely pitch from the company in July via Twitter. Then, one afternoon, I was surprised with a large parcel at the end of the month that included every single item in their product line. Even some marketing materials that thoroughly explained how everything works with a color brochure, and even samples to share with friends and family. Pretty basic, error proof, and very much letting the products speak for themselves. I looked up the price points, and that is when things as a blogger take a turn for me because if you are high in dollar value, I have high expectations for results. It's an even exchange in my world, where I pay good money and expect soft skin but if you expect me to pay well,  you better include a magic wand or something. This is also the longest I have tested a product line because I gave every single item a 2 month testing out period. That is 2 months of dedication and taking my skin's health serious. I thought if I was diligent on washing my face, moisturizing, a serum here, a cream there and even a little boost of retinol on fine lines meant I'm serious about what I do.

Not!

The parcel included 12 items and not every one needs to be used on a daily basis but 12 bottles to wow me and redefine serious skin care. This is the kind of wow where you really expect the promises to come true type of skin care. Let's say I spent so much looking at my skin that I must admit I experienced the foggy mirror effect and a few nose bumps because I was making sure things worked as stated. To not overstimulate your senses, I will be posting about 1 to 2 Eslor product reviews with the full details.

Let's begin sharing my Eslor Adventure...

A little history about the line: Eslor is a line developed by a pharmacologist that wanted to provide his wife with products that were derived from nature, meanwhile still providing results. Made in the United States with their headquarters in San Diego, California. The products all contain a very upfront approach where ingredients are clearly listed on the box and you have pluses like being paraben free and gentle. I really like that idea of nature meets science approach because I believe a company that produces beauty products needs to not ignore "one side" in order to provide the best product out there for consumers. I want every chance I can have when it comes to results and it can come from a lab or a tree, but please work is my approach.

DSCN3200

We start with the one cleanser Eslor carries called the Soothing Refiner & Cleanser. The product's job duties are not just washing the surface your skin but also restoring the balance (ph). Even though the product is advertised as gentle, please don't confuse that for low performance. You do get a deep clean but the type that does not leave your skin dry and deprived from moisture. Sort of counterproductive to strip your skin of the good oils and nutrients when you are combating age and the elements to reveal a healthier you. I just want to look the best I can look and not feel like my skin was pulled back further than it should go. You know the look. It's not a good look.

Instructions for Use: These are pretty basic and you get a generous amount of foam to create a gentle lather. In other words, you feel the product as it disperses and it does not leave you hanging halfway through your wash where you are trying to get more off your forehead to finish washing your chin. I used it both with and without make-up on and not only looked clean but felt the surface of my skin was clean enough to continue onto the other products.

Ingredients: Aloe Vera Gel, Sage leaves and Carrot extract to Rosemary and even Hops extracts. You also have friendly glycerin to Cocamidopropyl betaine, which is an ingredient just like it sounds, derived from coconut and aids with the creation of foam in beauty products and also serves as an antiseptic. Non-irritant and helps keeps things sanitary without harsh chemicals. Like most Eslor products, you also get more for benefits that are not as common with other facial washes, as I found many Eslor products do more than their counterparts. Alantoin, is also present and I like this ingredient because it increases the water content that can be delivered to your skin while exfoliating and you are left with a "new skin" that is healthier than what you removed. Full of moisture and very smooth.

Results: I like that the wash does more than just clean the daily dirt off your face because I want products that can deliver more for me doing less or the same activity. I have combination skin and like the wash states, it is good for ALL skin types. My face felt clean and with prolong use, my skin did improve and did not go through the dry spells I get during intense weather, when sometimes I wash my face three times if I am going out. I did not get that dryness on my neck (where my throat meets) and before it was a game of keeping it at bay while this wash made that problem non-existent. I suffer from acne spells too and this wash did not cause any break-outs and there is truth to getting "balance" out of this product when some think a washed face is better than a non one, this wash actually cleaned without stripping my skin but no oiliness came a couple hours later because it really does balance your skin enough to not misbehave as mine tends to do.

Price Point with Product Details: A 2 fluid Ounce bottle retails for $28.00 and I sadly have spent more for "targeted" washes that never exactly did well for what they were supposed to have a bulls-eye on or much for the rest of my face.

Swaggable: 7th Heaven, Montagne Jeunesse Moroccan Clay Gentle Exfoliating Masque

DSCN3581

I have reviewed several of the masks from Montagne Jeunesse and the newest Moroccan Clay mask is no exception that low price does not mean low quality.

The product is friendly for all skin types from combination to even sensitive skin. Made with Rhassoul Clay, which is a natural clay fortified with minerals such as iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium, lithium, and other trace elements. This form of clay removes dead cells and allows your skin to naturally replenish and re-balance 7th Heaven added Apricot seeds and Argan shell to aid with exfoliation and also oils so your skin does not dry out. The oils are organic as with most of the ingredients you will find associated with this brand. The key is that the product is gentle because rejuvenation only takes place when performing exfoliation correctly. Many times the urge to over scrub or maybe rub a little deeper than we should, results in redness to even irritations (damage). You may remove the dead skin but also cause damage to the new layer of skin that surfaced. There is such a thing as cleaning too deep; so much so that we remove the good oils that provide moisture and nourishment. I like that this mask sets just in time so that you do not complete the mortal sin of over exfoliating. It allows enough "play time" to remove the yuck and expose the beautiful!

Other Ingredients in the Moroccan Clay Mask:

  • Organic Apricot

  • Organic Argan Shell

  • Organic Cinnamon Oils

  • Organic Marula Oil

  • Organic Orange

  • Organic Sesame

I would repurchase this product because my skin was left feeling soft but not over dry. My skin felt and looked clean, plus I was left with a healthy glow. I noticed the results lasted days later and a smooth surface allowed for less make-up to be needed and easier application.  At a price point of $2.99, you can't spend three bucks for a beauty product any better way!

Arbonne Essentials Energy Fizz sticks Review

Everyone needs a little pick-me-up from time to time, I know. And the markets are positively flooded with energy drinks from every company, in every possible variation of color, potency, size and composition. It can get confusing especially with some of the, shall we say...dubious claims made on the cans, bottles or packets.

DSCN3539

So it's nice to see Arbonne throw their hats into this crowded ring with their Arbonne Essentials Energy fizz sticks. The pamphlet included states that these little packets are loaded with antioxidants, B-vitamins, and chromium. They also claim to "promote alertness, enhance cognitive function, promote endurance, and enhance motor skills". Wow. That's a lot to pack into a little "stick". Key ingredients include green tea, ginseng, and guarana. My first try-out was the pomegranate flavor. Here goes!

First things first: I have no idea how much water to include because the packet says to refer to the box, and the pamphlet I got says nothing about it either. So I guestimate about 8 ounces. It does indeed fizz, so much so that it speckles the mixer bottle I'm stirring it into. I'm keeping an open mind because after the protein shake crashed and burned, I approached this with some trepidation. But it smells pleasantly fruity, and my first sip confirms it. This is yummy. Reminiscent of Red Bull, but much, much lighter. There are light pomegranate notes here too, but not a smack in the face some Pom drinks have. The fizz dies out pretty quickly, but the flavor stays nice. My only quibbles would be that it does thicken up the saliva at the back of your throat, and the. lack of an ingredient list. Those issues might be exclusive to my situation, though, so don't hold that against them. I also noticed nothing the way of a boost, pick-me-up. or extra energy. But again, this could be me just being used to green tea drinks and caffeine in my coffee.

Like all Arbonne products, this one is vegan, free of artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners. This particular product comes in both citrus and pomegranate flavors. I label this product a "buy", and it's something I would look forward to and enjoy from time to time.

I received this product free of charge from an Arbonne representative.  I am not obligated to provide a favorable/positive review, just my honest opinion.  My review is based on my experience with the product/brand, which may differ from yours.

Arbonne Essentials Protein Shake in Chocolate and Vanilla Review

DSCN3540

I recently had a chance to try a few different products from the Arbonne Essentials. I thought I'd share my experiences with you.

The first product I tried was the Arbonne Protein Shake Mix. I will say that, thanks to Hubby, I have been able to try a wealth of different protein powder shakes from almost every major brand out there. So he was my "taste buddy" on this little trial run as well.

A few things about Arbonne Essentials before we go any further. They strive to "keep it simple", keep it healthy, and to make "good for you" products that are free from artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, cholesterol, trans fats, and 100% animal product free. These are vegan products, and they take that seriously. They have a very comprehensive line of products to address a multitude of needs.

So, back to the shake. I got to try chocolate (Our favorite flavor for EVERYTHING!) and vanilla. We tried to read on the package what the ingredients were, what the nutritional breakdown was, stuff like that. Nothing to really be found. Okay. Let's look at the pamphlet that came with it. That tells me that it's "pea protein" blend, 20 grams of it. It's gluten free. It has coenzyme Q10, alfalfa, ginseng, and flax seed. Unless that doubles as an ingredient list, I have no idea what else is in there. That's a little...frustrating. I tear into it and I'm immediately hit with a smell that I most closely identify with....latex paint?!? That can't be right. We dip our respective fingers in and give the dry power a little taste. "Not chocolate" says Hubby. There's a very strong vegetable flavor that immediately overpowers any hint of chocolate that might be there. Okay, well, it's dry. You're not supposed to taste it dry, so let's add the requisite water and let the flavors bloom. I notice right away there's A LOT of powder. Hubby's go-to protein powder has been Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard Whey powder, and for comparison purposes, it's a much smaller scoop. He has a few different shaker bottles, so we select his best big one and give it the old "30-second shake up". There's chunks of goo everywhere. So Hubby shakes some more, and with great vigor this time. No luck. It's a chunky mess. Well, sometimes it helps to sit in the fridge a bit and let the particles super-saturate and help the process. So sit it shall.

DSCN3538

After an hour, we take it out, noticing that it's started to separate a bit, but after a couple of shakes it's still kinda gloopy. Hubby gamely offers that he's "had worse" and goes in for a taste. He immediately tells me it's got a very chalk-like consistency and it's kinda gritty. There's a very strong veggie taste, even pepper-ish, and the aftertaste that remained as "horrible". The smell is still off, but I will myself to give it a go and I regret it almost immediately. He's right, something is off. I really can't taste any chocolate, but it's closer to a malted V8. Hubby gamely goes back for more, and after 3 sips, he says he can't finish it. Just so you know, I've seen this man chug things that would choke a billy goat, all in the name of fitness. For him to tell me he can't finish is shocking to me. I open up the vanilla and smell the same "latex paint" smell from before and I'm not even going to torture ourselves and go through this again. I'm ashamed to admit I didn't even mix it.

I have to wonder if there was something off about the samples I received. For company to be so high on their products that they send out samples like this tells me there must be something there, and hopefully this was just an anomaly.

I also got a chance to try their Energy Fizz Sticks, but that is for another post! =D

I received the above products free of charge from a Arbonne representative.  I am not obligated in providing a positive/favorable review, just my honest opinion.  My review is based on my experience with the brand and/or product, which may differ from yours.

Swaggable: Cloud Star's Dynamo Dog Functional Treats Hip & Joint (Bacon & Cheese)

I received a package of the Dynamo Dog Functional Hip & Joint,Bacon & Cheese treats and because we had been out all day, I needed a treat that would make-up for our absence.

DSCN3440

I opened the sample pack and the product had a doggy treat smell but not like those that are very off and the last thing you want to do is touch them. These smelled beef-like and close to what the better dog jerky treats smell like. A little soft when you squeeze it and I did appreciate that the treat comes in a perfect bite size for your pet, so no cutting needed.

Doggy Taste Test:
Our dog, Sweety took the treat and then went off to inspect it as it is a "new" snack for her. She did a few bites and then spit it out to inspect some more and for some reason she does this with all new treats....she expects a juicy center or something! A few more sniffs and then it must have passed the "test" because she finished it and came back with the give me more eyes. I gave her one more due to the hour of night and of course this is game she never knows or wants to end.

DSCN3441

Next day, inspection of the treat was not needed so I made sure to give her a couple more and she seemed more than pleased with them. In a scale where she loves roasted chicken as her favorite treat, which we give a 10. I would give these a 6 in her enthusiasm for them. Sweety, then likes Salmon at a 9 and Fresh Pineapple and Coconut Water at an 8, so this dog has unusual taste.

Being that products on the market geared towards pets tend to read like a science experiment, I like that there is some nutritional and health benefits attached to these. These treats are grain free, wheat and corn free, and no soy. Cloud Star also does not add artificial colors or flavorings or any by-products. No fillers for once! Sweety is getting up there in age even if she does not act like it, so I see adding these to the treat rotation.

  • Cloud Star has a large line of treats to fit your needs, so check them out at:  http://www.cloudstar.com/

  • You can find their products on Amazon and this variety is currently $5.35 for an 8 ounce package: http://www.amazon.com/Cloud-Star-Dynamo-Functional-5-Ounce/dp/B00BBQ7CC6

Swaggable: Sheila G's The ORIGINAL Brownie Brittle Company Review

DSCN3534

I've seen this product for the last year or so at Costco and once during the holidays, I picked up the bag but my uncertainty made me put it down on my "maybe next time" list. It's a big bag at Costco and because I could not see the product, I was worried about getting a lot of dust versus pieces of actual brittle. Then Swaggable offered me the opportunity to try the product out so it's like I was caught on camera carrying the bag to then changing my mind......spooky!

I get a parcel on Monday so that made my week brighter. Being that the product is chocolate related, this item was opened immediately because chocolate things to test in this house get priority status! Just in case you wonder why maybe a beauty product is not been reviewed today :). The day a beauty item comes with a chocolate bar, I may just lose it!

First Impressions:
Upon opening the first bag, you get an intense chocolate smell. It just starts to hypnotize you and worse, those that may be standing near you too. So, when you purchase a bag, I warn you to open it in an empty room if you are not the sharing type. I looked inside and was amazed to see the brittle shaped into squares. This brittle tends to not break into shards and the usual uneven pieces that turn into powder or even poke bags open. These squares are a perfect snack size and most were in perfect shape. They almost resemble thin cookies.....the wafer kind. I notice there is a healthy amount of chocolate chips, so I have not been cheated, in case you were worried. I notice you get little crumbles so very much like you would imagine a very thin chocolate chip cookie to be like. Smells like brownies, so I take a bite. The product is just like the company advertises, it tastes like the edge of a brownie square....you know, what comes it contact with the pan and crisps up from the butters and oils released by the chocolate and cocoa. Just think of someone baking brownies and shaving off the crispy edges but being kind enough to keep it looking (square) pretty. You get that airiness and it is a light crisp with an intense chocolate flavor. I liked it and finished off my square and went throughout my day.

DSCN3535

The Taste Test:
The next morning I wake up and I am making my breakfast bowl of pumpkin granola clusters, almonds, accompanied by Almond milk and I spot the taped up bag of the brownie brittle. I open it and take 2 squares out and crumble them on top and I start to move on over to my lap top while taking a bite. Oh my.....it made my breakfast sinfully delicious. I started to think of brownie brittle over yogurt and then brownie brittle with ice cream and even baking a cheesecake with a brownie brittle bottom......let's say I got carried away. It seems my appreciation of the brownie brittle square alone was under valued on Monday until I paired it up with other stuff and it seriously shined!!! I saw the literature they enclosed and they have other flavors like:

  • Toffee Crunch (so curious as I LOVE toffee)

  • Salted Caramel (must try!)

  • Mint Chocolate Chip

  • and of course, The Chocolate chip one I tried

Sheila G's Brownie Brittle is 120 calories for one ounce and it will satisfy a chocolate craving in less than that. Things to note is that the product does contain corn syrup solids and I understand it is sometimes needed to achieve the desired texture. You do see sugar and cocoa and my only dislike in the list of ingredients was the caramel coloring. I am not a fan of dyes and prefer a less fantastic color if the taste and texture are there but other than that, this brittle has less going on than your common candy bar and more chocolate satisfaction!

Freeman Eclos Skincare Review #EclosGoBare Challenge

This Summer I was rewarded the Eclos trio as a perk for being a Klout member. The kit included a Skin Prep Cleanser, Moisture Therapy Regenerative Cream, and a Daily HydraPrimer in SPF 30.

DSCN3118

Eclos is part of the Freeman family and uses a natural approach in helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve skin's texture. The line derives its anti-aging power from Apple Stem Cells, thus the yellow colored apple featured on the Eclos line. This rare Swiss apple is called the Uttwiler Spatlauber as noted in the Eclos literature.

Uttwiller Spätlauber Apple's History:
This apple has been harvested since the 1800's in Canton, Thurgau (northern part) Switzerland and from my research, in 2009 researchers came out with claims of maybe this being the new anti-wrinkle solution even though the trees were dying out at some point. The diminishing of the trees came from people not seeking the apple's flavor because it tended to be sour, however it is a species that remains with a smooth outer skin appearance longer than other species of apples. After claims were clinically proven to reflect positive results, the species has been regenerated and produced in large quantities for certain cosmetic companies/lines. I saw in my research companies selling creams, serums and/or lotions to foundations with Uttwiller Spätlauber listed as an ingredient. Prices were as high as $395 to as low as $10. I have no idea if "strength" or other combined properties define the price point.

This was a 2-week challenge that I took and because I like to give products a chance to show their full potential, or in this case erase some off my face, I gave the Eclos line a 4 week chance.

Let's Begin......

  • Eclos Skin Prep Cleanser ($14.99 for 6.8 oz): Labeled as the rejuvenate+clean and the "starter" in the regimen, I was not very impressed by the product. It cleans just like any good cleaner out there and I did not feel a deep clean or any rejuvenation omitting from the foam itself. I used the cleanser in both ways as just washing my face and a few times in removing make-up on those days I was taking a short-cut because I was wearing very light make-up. The wash did not play well at removing even a light application of make-up, as I felt a residue after washing. I had to use a make-up removing wipe even when I was not using my "long-wearing" foundation. I can easily say my grapefruit friend at a lower price point did a better job at cleansing my face, so I do not recommend this as your main wash.

  • Eclos Therapy Regenerative Cream ($24.99 for 2.0 oz): Labeled as the hydrate+strengthen member of the trio. After two weeks of use, I felt my skin was moisturized and soft, however my skin remained the same when it came to the level of fine lines I have. This states improvement of wrinkles and I can say it did not diminish just my fine lines. At the 4-week mark, I looked like I did at the two week and at when I started mark. I like the "back to nature" approach and always welcome a non-chemical application, but apples did not cut it when it came to improving my skin. Yes, it was soft to the touch but that was pretty much it. I also found that less is better with this moisturizer as you do get into residue and oily issues if you use more than a pea size amount for your face alone.

  • Eclos Daily HydraPrimer SPF 30 ($15.99 for 1.0 oz): Labeled as the repair, protect +prime, so this last guy carries more duties. I have tried more primers that I want to admit and, that sometimes not using a primer is easier for me than picking one that brings me more problems than solutions (*cough*UrbanDecay*cough*). Out of all three products I tried from Eclos, this one outperformed and also replaced my former primer. I was not holding out hope and soon was going to blame Eclos if I got frown lines from the disappointment with the above products, but this one makes me thank Eclos. It works and not only did I continue using it, I will most likely purchase it again. This little apple works and provides not only protection but a nice and smooth application of my make-up. The SPF did not cause my skin any problems and I usually use SPF 15 on my face because the higher the number, the higher the oily feeling gets. Not with this primer and I actually felt this was what gave the better results. I don't feel in my opinion you need the 2 above to see the results and a little goes a long way. By week 6 of using this primer, I had the same softness and actually saw that my skin looked smoother so discontinuing the 2 above at that point made no difference.

I found the primer reasonably priced and also stocked from Target, Ulta, Walgreens to even Amazon, so if you are interested in trying the apple.....it can easily be picked or even delivered to your home. I received this product from Klout and Eclos, free of charge. I am not obligated in providing positive/favorable feedback, just my honest opinion. My review is based on my experience with the brand and/or it's products, which may differ from yours.

This is my favorite perk so far for 2013!!! I used the coffee in Creme Brulee flavor and created a cake.  I used Turbinado sugar to create the caramelized top associated with a Creme Brulee.  Made the dessert in 3 layers and because I love berries with my brulee, I created a triple berry filling and then covered it all with a dark chocolate ganache.
