Surprisingly, amazonite doesn't much come from the Amazon anymore (although you might find some on Amazon.com, tee-hee). No, after coming almost exclusively from Chelyabinsk, Russia it now comes primarily out of Colorado, USA. A type of microcline feldspar, it is easily fractured and therefore not so easy to work with. Sometimes called the "Stone of Courage", it empowers and embolden while tempering rash behavior a day soothing the soul. Lauded for healing and prosperity since Mesopotamia times, this is one to not be taken lightly.
